This Privacy Policy explains how 7Reader (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the 7Reader mobile application (the “App”).

For purposes of data protection laws, we generally act as the data controller for personal data processed through the App.
2. Legal Framework & Compliance
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or related to this Policy. Nothing in this section limits any consumer rights you may have under mandatory laws of your place of residence, including any right to bring a claim in local courts where such rights apply.
Providing Personal Data is generally voluntary and you are not legally required to provide it. However, if you choose not to provide certain data (such as your email address for authentication), the App will not function.
Subject to applicable law, you may request to review personal information about you held in a database, and if you find it to be inaccurate, incomplete, unclear, or outdated, you may request that it be corrected or deleted. These rights are provided under Israel’s Protection of Privacy Law, 5741–1981. To exercise these rights, contact support@7reader.com.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide
Account & authentication
- Email address (required) to create and manage your account.
- Name (optional) if you choose to provide it (e.g., as a display name).
Content you save
- URLs you save, reading status, folders/tags.
- Full extracted article text and related metadata (e.g., title, source domain, publication date).
Support & communications
- The content of messages you send to us (e.g., support requests).
Marketing preferences
- Newsletter/product update opt-in status (only if you explicitly opt in).
3.2 Information We Collect Automatically (App Operation)
Device & technical data: Device
model, OS version, app version, language/time zone, network
type.
Identifiers:
App-instance identifiers and diagnostic
identifiers.
IP address: May be processed by our infrastructure and vendors
as part of providing and securing the service (routing,
security, fraud prevention).
3.3 Feedback Submissions (Device Info Collected)
When you submit feedback (for example via an in-app “Send Feedback” flow), we collect information needed to diagnose issues, which may include:
- Device model, OS version, app version/build number.
- Basic diagnostics/logs relevant to the feedback.
- Your email address (to follow up, if needed).
We use this information only to respond to you and improve stability/quality.
4. Article Extraction and Stored Content
When you save an article/URL, the App may fetch and parse the page and store a copy of the extracted article text in your account to enable core functionality such as offline reading, syncing, and search.
Important
- Ownership: We claim no ownership over the content you save. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to access and save such content.
- Personal Data in Content: Extracted content may contain personal data if the source page contains it. You control what you save.
5. Crash Reporting & Diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics)
We use Firebase Crashlytics to help monitor app stability and diagnose crashes. Crash reports may include crash stack traces, device/app technical information, and an installation identifier used to understand how many users are impacted by a crash. We do not use crash reporting data for advertising.
6. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Provide and operate the App.
- Authenticate you and maintain your account.
- Sync your saved content across devices.
- Provide offline reading and in-app search (including using stored extracted text).
- Respond to feedback/support requests.
- Improve performance, stability, and usability.
- Communicate with you regarding account/service issues.
- Send newsletters/product updates only if you opt in.
7. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR/UK GDPR)
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Contractual necessity: To provide the App (account, syncing, saved content).
- Legitimate interests: Security, fraud prevention, service improvement, and diagnostics.
- Consent: Marketing emails/newsletters where required (you can withdraw anytime).
- Legal obligations: Compliance with applicable laws and lawful requests.
8. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:
- Google Sign-In: Authentication.
- Firebase Authentication: Authentication.
- Firebase Firestore: Data storage & syncing.
- Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reporting/diagnostics.
- Google Play Billing: Subscription payments (if applicable).
- Google Cloud Platform: Hosting/infrastructure.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies and may act as processors or independent controllers depending on context.
9. Payments
Subscriptions (if offered) are processed exclusively via Google Play Billing. We do not collect, store, or process payment card information on our servers.
10. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data or share it with third parties for their marketing or advertising purposes. We disclose data only:
- To service providers listed in Section 8 (to run the App).
- When legally required (court orders, lawful requests).
- To protect our rights, users, and the integrity/security of the App (e.g., investigating abuse).
Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require the recipient to honor this Privacy Policy or provide notice and a materially equivalent policy.
11. Data Retention & Deletion
11.1 Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.
- Account data and saved content: Retained until you request deletion.
- Crash/diagnostic data: Crash reports and related identifiers are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days for troubleshooting and reliability.
11.2 Deletion Upon User Request
You may request deletion of your account and associated data by:
- Using in-app deletion controls (Settings > Delete Account).
- Contacting support@7reader.com.
After a valid deletion request, we delete or anonymize the requested data from active production systems within a reasonable period.
Backups: Residual copies may remain
in secure backup systems and server logs for a limited period
(typically up to 30 days) before being overwritten or
deleted.
Legal
obligations: In some cases, limited
information may be retained longer if required by law or to
resolve disputes.
12. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence (for example, on Google Cloud infrastructure in the US or EU). Where required, appropriate safeguards may be used for cross-border transfers.
13. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Receive a copy of your data (data portability).
- Withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent).

14. Children’s Privacy
7Reader is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
15. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your data, including encryption in transit (such as HTTPS) and encryption at rest where supported by our service providers. However, no system is 100% secure.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App and/or via email.
